Out of 150 girls who came to try their luck at the first stage of selection, the 50 best were chosen. Of these, Sasha Nikolenko, the owner of the competition, selected 30 semi-finalists. Christina easily passed both stages of the selection and reached the final. In the final, the audience was already deciding the fate of the participants. The 10 best girls received the right to fight for the Miss Ukraine-Universe 2009 crown if they received the maximum number of votes from the Internet community. The rest were picked up by the national committee "MUV" and the participants themselves. But Christina did not have to use a fallback: she got into the top five girls, having received about 5 and a half thousand public votes. The last test was the decision of the jury, which was to leave the 15 best out of 25 girls. Interestingly, the jury consisted of photographer Dmitry Peretrutov and fashion designer Angela Lisitsa, who had been collaborating with the VIA Gra group for a long time.
The final of the contest “Miss Ukraine-Universe-2009 ″ took place in Kiev on February 20 (Friday). The young ladies were elected by a jury consisting of: jeweler Sergei Tsyupko, publisher Yaroslav Gres, Russian actors Sergei Zhigunov and Svetlana Svetlichnaya, owner of the Miss Ukraine-Universe contest Alexandra Nikolaenko and son of billionaire Donald Trump Eric Trump.
