Constant cold what to do. Prevention of persistent colds. How to determine independently a decrease in immunity

It slipped through, frozen legs, poorly dressed, warmed up a lot, there were solid microbes all around, weak bronchi, weak ears ... But you never know other reasons! For a person who often suffers from colds, no matter how he is careful, there is always and everywhere a reason for the next acute respiratory infections, bronchitis, otitis media, sinusitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis. And so endlessly from month to month, from year to year, and, as it turns out, the absolute majority of such unfortunate people are not helped by tempering (but how to harden if you are constantly in a state of cold?), Or various rinses, or drinking special collections of herbs, nor various measures to enhance immunity. This is not an empty statement. I myself at one time, when I was quite seriously ill and had many different complaints and diagnoses, was constantly in a state of cold for about two years. In addition, I have many patients, and especially children, who have been ill with various colds 10-20 times a year and were convinced of the ineffectiveness or small and only temporary effectiveness of the usually proposed preventive measures on myself. There is another group of unfortunates - they do not necessarily get colds often, but they get out of it for a long or very long time, everyone coughs and blows their nose, sweats and does not gain strength.
The generally accepted idea of \u200b\u200blow immunity or weak mucous membranes as the cause of the problem in such cases is erroneous. Confirmation of this is the many of my patients, children and adults, who got rid of frequent colds of various kinds.

Many years of practice of the integral systemic approach allowed me to establish that the main cause of frequent colds is allergy, that is, not reduced immunity, but increased reactivity of the body, and primarily of lymphoid tissue respiratory tract... I can say even more categorically - without allergy, chronic or frequent rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, otitis media simply does not exist. Moreover, it should be borne in mind that allergy does not necessarily have to be manifested by hives, intolerance to any product, or in some other obvious external way. Chronic edema lymphoid apparatus of the mucous membrane with impaired blood flow, lymph flow, metabolism, easy accession of infection, and there is one of the options for obvious allergy, along with classic urticaria.

Nevertheless, such a fundamentally important statement is only the first step towards effective treatment patients with this problem. Naturally, the question arises: what is the cause of allergy in each particular person? Those who have any obvious allergies naively say that the cause of their allergies is either plant pollen, or cold, or chocolate, or eggs, or strawberries, or laundry detergent ... However, all this is never the cause of allergies - these are only provoking factors, and the reason is in the dysfunction of certain organs designed to provide an adequate response to various allergens. Those who have such organs poorly functioning (and not necessarily clearly sick), just suffer from increased allergies. Too frequent helplessness of doctors in cases of frequent colds is explained by the fact that in such cases there is a struggle either to increase immunity or to strengthen the "weak" mucous membranes, and the culprit organs remain outside the scope of attention. Firstly, this happens because a person is not considered as a single system in which the mucous membranes and the immune system do not exist separately from all other organs and tissues, and secondly, because changes in the organs, even when they think about them, are evaluated from the position: they are sick or not sick, while they may not be sick, and not healthy, that is, changes in them may have the character of dysfunction.

The systematic approach naturally implies that, despite the priority contribution of allergy to frequent colds, a certain role belongs to other disorders in the body, negatively affecting metabolism, blood circulation, detoxification, regulation.

So what is the cause of the allergy itself? The fact is that, despite the typological disorders in the body of all such people, the reason is always not only complex, but also individual. This is where one of the fundamental methodological principles of medicine comes into force: treatment should be preceded by individual diagnostics in direct contact with the patient. It is in this case that both the main link and all accompanying or aggravating moments in a given patient can be established.

I want to note that I could describe here in sufficient detail the key typological causes of allergies and frequent colds, however, for a popular publication this would be too complex a description, and besides, this is my know-how. In medicine, know-how exists not only and not so much as a commercial category, but as a way to avoid discrediting a method or approach by incorrect or dishonest use. It is possible to evaluate the effectiveness of a method or approach only if the author uses them.

Notwithstanding the above, I will nevertheless give recommendations in this chapter for dealing with various common colds. I have no doubt that with their careful implementation, very many will achieve remarkable results, although maximum efficiency is possible only after direct work with the patient.

So, the first thing to be observed: limiting obvious allergens. Here we mean not only what causes you an obvious allergy, but also what increases the general allergic background in all people: chocolate, citrus fruits, white sugar, lots of fish, lots of eggs, lots of white chicken meat, strawberries, lots of honey ...

Next, alternate by day taking either 1 teaspoon of castor oil, or 1-2 tablets of allochol, or 2-3 tablets of activated carbon before bedtime (for children, respectively, 1 coffee spoon of oil, 1 tablet of allochol, 1-2 tablets of activated carbon) ...

Every day after lunch or dinner, apply a warm heating pad to the liver area for 10-20 minutes (the area of \u200b\u200bthe right costal arch).

Massage the back of the head and neck with your hands or a soft massage brush 1-2 times daily, as well as massage the upper lumbar region (above the waist) with your hands or any massager or towel. In the evening, apply a warm heating pad on the top of your lower back for 10-20 minutes.

Take a warm thyme bath 1-2 times a week. For a bath, you can use a decoction (from a handful of herbs) or thyme essential oil (3-5 drops), or you can simply rinse after washing with a decoction of thyme from a jug. Children should take 2-5 drops of oil for the bath, depending on age.

Perform a special acupressure massage regularly - acupressure. Unfortunately, I cannot give individual points for each point in absentia, so use the recommendations for acupressure, given, for example, in brochures on Shiatsu (Shiatsu). Of course, the effect will be less, but that is why they are absentee recommendations. There are two principles here: points should be massaged until painful from 20 seconds to 1.5 minutes and the more often, the better, that is, up to two times daily. However, the effect will be good even if you perform acupressure at least 3-4 times a week. With young children, acupressure can be difficult, but it should still be done the way it works. Naturally, small ones should not massage the points too hard.

Regularly practice the performance of special exercises from hatha yoga - asanas. Do the birch, headstand, dog, snake, grasshopper poses first. There are also two principles here: frequency - the more often the better, but not bad at least 3-4 times a week; and the second principle is nonviolence, that is, perform the asanas so that there are no unpleasant or painful sensations. Even if at first you will perform asanas clumsily and not for long, or even simply imitate them. For young children, it is advisable to turn classes into a game and, since they are unlikely to be able to do everything correctly, at least imitate asanas.

Finally, practice contrasting treatments (showers, douches, rubdowns) regularly. Here, the most important principles are non-violence and "the more often the better", although two to four times a week are enough. Do not perform feats, it is not necessary to drench yourself for a long time, many times and very cold water... You can do two or three contrasting douches with cool or even slightly cool and hot water. The point here is not hardening in the sense that it is usually understood, but in training those complex mechanisms that, among other things, are involved in the formation of adequate reactions to the effects of allergens.

So, you got a clear, simple and harmless program for working on your problem. Of course, after direct diagnosis, this program would be more accurate individually and somewhat more extensive (I cannot give some recommendations without direct diagnosis). However, the above will be enough for many of you to be able to radically solve your problem, since these recommendations, no matter how simple and far from the respiratory tract, nevertheless affect the key, causal mechanisms of the formation of frequent colds.

I will add that in parallel, homeopathic treatment, any physical exercise, regular use of fortifying herbal teas can be useful.

All of the above about frequent colds fully applies to frequent and chronic otitis media, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis. Acute otitis media or sinusitis, bronchitis can be and only once in life, as a result, for example, of severe hypothermia, weakening of the body, while frequent and chronic - only as a result of allergies. Even so-called obstructive bronchitis, in fact, is really only "so-called". There are actually no real gross organic obstructive changes in the bronchial mucosa. With bronchoscopy, you can see the unevenness of the lumen of the bronchi, foci of inflammation, atrophy, hypertrophy, but this, again, is a consequence of allergic edema, hypertrophy of lymphoid tissue, which permeates the mucous membrane, and only secondary focal inflammatory and atrophic changes. Secondary, because blood flow, lymph flow, metabolic processes, and regeneration cannot normally flow in the edematous tissue. Just as from frequent colds with the beginning of systemic therapy, almost always quickly there is no trace left, the signs of obstructive bronchitis disappear relatively quickly, otitis media, sinusitis stop, and even in cases of long-term bronchitis. The only exceptions are cases with sinusitis, when surgical interventions were performed earlier, as well as cases of bronchitis, accompanied by foci of fibrosis (sclerosis) after a very rough acute bronchitis suffered in the past. Any former traumatic surgical damage to any organ makes it difficult to work with it in the future, and the former gross inflammatory process, often leaving fibrous foci, creates a chronic focal obstruction of blood and lymph flow, metabolism, discharge of natural secretions, regeneration, which creates a focus of the nutrient medium for the secondary attachment of infection (the infection is not the cause of the diseases being analyzed, as it is commonly believed, microorganisms simply multiply with pleasure in stagnant tissue). In these cases, treatment is also effective, but often takes much longer. Sometimes it is not even possible to achieve an absolute effect due to poor resorption of fibrous tissue.

In general, as a rule, my patients with frequent colds, especially children who used to be sick ten to twenty times a year, or even almost always in a state of cold, already in the next year catch colds only 1-2-3 times and get sick easily and not as before, for two or three weeks, but for two or four days. Incredibly, this is a reality, while modern medicine is practically powerless in such cases. When I pick up the articles of luminaries in the field of combating frequent colds, articles written by a highly scientific "calm", in which hundreds of indicators of the immune status in such patients are analyzed and at the end follows a profound conclusion that, apparently, we have not yet I manage to find the last one or two indicators in order to understand everything, but supernova devices and tests will appear, we will find these indicators and easily solve all the problems - I am afraid for modern medicine.

However, to close the conversation about treatment, I would like to make one last important remark. Be patient! Despite the fact that most of my similar patients have good results, as I said, quite quickly, with absentee treatment, given its not entirely individual nature, it may take a little more time. Be punctual and patient, and your colds will get easier and easier and less and less frequent.

Even a small draft is enough for you to catch a cold? Do your feet soaked in the warm rain make your bed for a few days? Do you never drink cold milk from the refrigerator, knowing that your throat will react very quickly to such a drink with pain and hoarseness? If you answer yes to these questions, chances are you can be categorized as a frequently ill person. This is quite unpleasant, but it is in your power to cope with this problem on your own, strengthen the immune system and achieve the body's resistance to various colds.

Causes of frequent illnesses

In fact, only a doctor can accurately determine the factors that suppress your immune system. You should not refuse preventive visits to the clinic, a health problem detected in time is treated much easier and faster than a neglected one.

Experts say that the most common cause of frequent colds is the presence of certain chronic ailments in a patient or simply untreated diseases. So it can be problems with ENT organs, for example, sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, etc. Also, frequent morbidity can be triggered by pathological processes in other organs and systems, for example, in the kidneys, liver or in the digestive tract. Accordingly, when contacting a doctor, the patient first of all must pass tests of a general type, already from them it is possible to determine some malfunctions in the activity of the body.

How you treat your colds and other ailments also plays an important role in frequent illnesses. So often, patients who have been actively using vasoconstrictor droplets for several years now, from time to time themselves decide to take antibiotics, and also buy different medicines after reading the Internet, or after listening to friends. The body reacts negatively to this careless approach to treatment, and the immune system quickly fails.

In addition, frequent morbidity can be triggered by the presence of certain viruses in the body, including herpes viruses, Epstein-Barr viruses, and cytomegalovirus. They may not make themselves felt in any way, causing a significant decrease in immunity, subferral temperature, and chronic fatigue. In the event that the tests confirm the presence of such a problem, then the patient will have to undergo a course of antiviral therapy.

In certain cases, even perfectly healthy people with good test results experience immune problems. In this case, they are strongly advised to consult with an immunologist, who in turn can refer patients to other more narrow specialists.

What to do?

With frequent morbidity, it is worth solving this problem in a comprehensive manner. It is worth optimizing your diet as much as possible by including all the vitamins and nutrients in it. Admission of multivitamin and mineral complexes selected by the doctor can be beneficial. In addition, it is worth paying attention to systematic physical activity. Even a short morning exercise and regular walking before bed will have a positive effect on your immune system over time.

An important role is played by systemic hardening, which should be started during a period of full health. To begin with, just train yourself to wash with cold water, and over time, switch to contrast showers, etc.

Folk remedies

Even available and cheap remedies can help you boost your immune system. Consider a few effective recipes that you can easily prepare yourself.

Finely chop two hundred and fifty grams of onion and combine it with two hundred milliliters of sugar. Pour half a liter of water into a container with this composition and boil over low heat for an hour and a half. Add a couple of tablespoons of honey to the cooled mass, then strain the medicine. Pour the prepared composition into a glass container and consume it in a tablespoon three to five times a day.

Combine equal parts of walnuts, raisins, dried apricots and prunes. Rotate all these ingredients through a meat grinder and mix well together with quality honey. The resulting composition should be consumed one or two tablespoons per day with a bite of tea.

A couple of tablespoons of ordinary pine needles should be rinsed with cold water and transferred to an enamel container. Prepared raw materials should be brewed with only one glass of boiled water. Boil the product over low heat for twenty minutes, then set aside to infuse for another half hour. The resulting medicine should be filtered. Before consumption, add honey or sugar to it, drink such a composition in a glass per day, distributing this amount over a couple of doses.

Combine half a kilo of mashed cranberries with a glass of walnut kernels and two or three green apples, cut into small cubes along with the peel. Add to this composition half a glass of water, as well as half a kilo of sugar. Put the container on fire and bring to a boil, then transfer the finished medicine to glass jars. Take a tablespoon twice a day.

If you tell yourself I am often sick, what to do now you have learned, the reasons have also been learned. However, if you or your child suffers from frequent illnesses, do not be lazy and go to see the doctor. Folk remedies will also help to activate the immune system.

Colds are in the first place among all childhood diseases. The immunity of children is not yet able to work at full strength, therefore, with hypothermia, temperature changes, epidemics, they quickly catch cold and begin to hurt. Healing a cold always takes a lot of effort and time, and quite often the child quickly falls ill again. What to do in this situation? The main means of dealing with frequent childhood colds is preventive measures to strengthen the immune system.

Colds

Acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) or colds is the general name for a group of infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract that can lead to inflammatory process in the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx.

Cold symptoms begin to develop within 1-2 days after infection. A sick child is contagious for the first 2-3 days. To protect your child from frequent colds, you need to take preventive measures that will strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of infection during epidemics and flu.

There are more than 200 types of viruses in total, but the most common are the following:

  • Flu Is one of the most difficult infections. Symptoms: heat, sore throat, headache, weakness, pain joints, runny nose, cough.
  • Rhinovirus - a virus that causes a runny nose. The main signs are: nasal discharge and nasal congestion at normal body temperature.
  • Parainfluenza - a type of ARVI, in which the child's voice becomes hoarse or hoarse, a cough may appear. Parainfluenza is dangerous for children with a complication in the form of false croup.
  • Adenovirus infection mainly enters the body through the upper respiratory tract, in rare cases through the eyes and intestines. Symptoms: sore throat and redness, elevated temperature, cough, weakness, lethargy, tearfulness, swollen lymph nodes in the neck.

Causes of diseases

The main reason for frequent colds is a weakened immune system. The child's immune system is laid even in the prenatal period. It is influenced by:

  • birth trauma;
  • colds of the expectant mother during pregnancy;
  • severe toxicosis in the mother;
  • intrauterine infection of the fetus;
  • prematurity.

In addition, a decrease in the immunity of a child under 3-7 years old is facilitated by:

lack of physical activity;

  • unsatisfactory living conditions;
  • poor ecology of the region of residence;
  • the presence of foci of chronic infection in the mouth and nasopharynx;
  • allergization of the child's body, which often leads to a weakening of the immune response to infection;
  • insufficient maturity of the immune system and respiratory organs;
  • hypovitaminosis;
  • non-compliance with hygiene rules;
  • decreased function of the adrenal cortex;
  • second hand smoke;
  • frequent stress;
  • early attendance at kindergarten;
  • after vaccinations, immunity can also decrease for a period of 1 to 3 months.
  • An unhealthy atmosphere in the family, school or kindergarten also weakens the protective function of the body. Children from disadvantaged families get sick more often.

    Prevention

    Graft

    Vaccination will protect the body from 2-3 common strains of the virus. She will not be able to overcome the rest of the varieties, but it will ease the course of the disease and reduce the likelihood of complications. For this reason, vaccinations are recommended when the strain of the influenza virus is known.

    At the same time, it is important to understand that full body protection will occur only 2-3 weeks after vaccination. During this time, the body produces antibodies necessary to resist the virus.

    The doctor must make a decision on the vaccination; it is contraindicated to do this on his own.

    Vitamins

    The pharmacies offer a large number of special children's multivitamin complexes (Supradin, Alphabet, Vitrum, Pikovit, Vita Mishki and others) and vitamin C (Ascorutin, Ascorbinka and others), which can strengthen the immune system and protect the child's body from colds, and in case of illness, accelerate the healing process.

    Also, for the prevention of colds, it is very useful to take fish oil in capsules or syrup (for example, Smart Omega-Baby, Omega-3 and others). It is important to remember vitamins - this is still a medicine that can be bought only after consulting a doctor.

    Drugs

    Among the large number of existing drugs that can prevent the penetration of viruses, the following immunomodulatory agents are distinguished by their effectiveness: Amizon drops, Imunoflazid syrup, Influcid tablets, Acyclovir, Vitaon, Groprinosin, Viferon suppositories, Viburkol.

    Before visiting crowded places or traveling on public transport during the period of flu and epidemics, it is advisable to lubricate the nose of children with oxolinic ointment.

    Immunomodulators in the nose (Derinat), antiseptics for rinsing the throat and instilling in the nose (Miramistin solution, Okomistin drops, Oftamirin, and so on) are also used to increase the protective forces.

    Most often, for the prevention of colds, children are prescribed pills, suppositories and ointments based on interferon. These include: candles Laferobion, Kipferon, nasal drops Nazoferon, Grippferon, Anaferon tablets, Ergoferon and others.

    Homeopathy

    Preparations made on the basis of natural ingredients are an excellent alternative to other medicationsthat can cause side effects... Most often, the following medications are prescribed: Allium cepa, Aflubin, Otsillococcinum, Grip-Gran and others.

    Essential oils

    Aromatic oils can enhance the immunity of a child, as they have antiseptic and soothing properties. An excellent prevention of colds will be aromatherapy procedures using essential oils of pine, lavender, fir, mint, eucalyptus, orange, lemon balm, tea tree and lemon.

    Oils can be added to the bath before bathing, or you can use aroma lamps, aroma pendants. It is necessary to strictly follow the instructions and make sure that the child does not develop an allergic reaction.

    Inhalation

    An effective method of preventing colds in children. The procedures can be carried out with essential oils, mineral water, antiseptics (Miramistin, Dekasan and others) diluted with saline in a 1: 2 ratio. For inhalations with essential oils, an ultrasonic device is not suitable; for this it is better to use a steam inhaler.

    Massage

    For the treatment of colds, certain techniques are used that not only eliminate the symptoms of the disease, but also accelerate the healing process. Some are used prophylactically and at home. Only a qualified specialist can choose the right technique and teach it to parents.

    Sanatorium

    If a child has a cold more than 6 times a year, then he needs to undergo a course of rehabilitation therapy, which will help strengthen the immune system. In addition to therapeutic and prophylactic procedures, climatic conditions also play a role in recovery - mountain or sea air, salty sea water, mineral waters and so on.

    Hardening

    The best prevention of colds in a child is hardening - air baths, rubdowns, douches.

    It is important to observe moderation, gradually increasing the intensity of the procedures. It is possible to harden the child only when he is completely healthy, it is advisable to start in the summer, since at this time of the year the likelihood of overcooling the body decreases.

    It is useful to run barefoot both at home and outdoors in the summer. Walking without shoes helps develop natural thermoregulation.

    When swimming, the water temperature should be reduced gradually, starting from 37 degrees. Then, with an interval of 6-7 days, reduce the temperature by 0.5-1 degrees, depending on the child's adaptation speed.

    You can also strengthen the child's immunity with the simplest actions:

    • Full rest. Children under 7 years of age need naps, and some sleep up to 8 years. During sleep, the body restores the expended energy, which helps to strengthen the immune defense.
    • Balanced diet. To strengthen the immune system, it is recommended to give the child natural fruit drinks from lingonberries, black currants, raspberries, sea buckthorn and cranberries, cook compotes from fruits, dried fruits, prepare teas with rose hips, sage, lemon, treat the child with sea buckthorn or raspberry jam. High amounts of vitamin C are found in fresh orange, dark green, and red vegetables and fruits. It is important that onions, cabbage, garlic, meat, eggs, cereals and dairy products are present in the baby's diet.
    • Sport. Hiking, exercise, gymnastics and swimming in the pool actively strengthen the body's defenses.

    • Cleaning of premises. Viruses on surfaces live for a maximum of 2-3 hours. Therefore, in winter, it is advisable to carry out wet cleaning more often with disinfectants that completely kill viruses and resist their appearance in the apartment.
    • Personal hygiene. The flu and cold viruses enter the body through the mouth, eyes, nose, so it is necessary to ensure that the child does not touch his face with dirty hands. Upon arrival home, you need to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water and rinse your nose with saline.
    • Indoor temperature should be at a level of 20-22 degrees so that children, going outside, do not get overcooled and overheated. Severe temperature changes are often the main cause of colds.
    • Selection of clothes is also very important. The child should be dressed for the weather so that he does not sweat.

    Folk recipes for prevention

    Garlic and onion

    These spicy plants are capable of killing cold and flu viruses. Therefore, it is recommended to put plates with finely chopped onions and / or garlic in rooms where children are, or near beds. You need to change the contents of the plate 5-6 times a day.

    Rosehip tea

    The fruits of this plant contain a lot of vitamin C, and dried berries are stored for a long time and can be found in any pharmacy. The berries must be poured with boiling water and left overnight in a thermos. Drink 0.5 cups 3 times a day, sweetened with sugar or honey if desired. The same method is used to brew the berries of rowan, cranberry and viburnum.

    However, it is important to remember that rosehip infusion can severely damage the enamel of children's teeth or increase its sensitivity. Therefore, the child should drink it through a straw.

    Herbal teas

    For the prevention of colds, it is recommended that children be given chamomile or linden tea. It is better to use natural honey as a sweetener: 1 teaspoon per 200 ml of drink. Honey must be added to a warm liquid, as it loses its beneficial properties when hot.

    Foot baths

    If the child's feet are wet or frozen after a walk, then to prevent the disease, you need to make warming baths for the feet: dissolve 60 grams in 5 liters of hot water mustard powder and 60 grams of soda. Put the baby's feet in the bath, support for 5-10 minutes, and then wipe dry and put on warm socks.

    Beekeeping products

    Honey and propolis not only strengthen the immune system, but can also relieve a person from a sore throat, cough, runny nose and other cold symptoms in a few days. Trace elements and substances that make up these products suppress the vital activity of viruses and microorganisms.

    If the child does not have allergies, it is useful to give 1 teaspoon of honey daily or add it to warm milk at night.

    An alcoholic tincture is prepared from propolis: put 5 grams of crushed raw materials in a dark container (a bottle made of dark glass), pour 100 milliliters of alcohol and leave for 15 days to infuse. The strained tincture can be stored in the refrigerator for several years. For children from 3 years of age, give 3 drops 3 times a day. For small children, it is better to prepare an aqueous tincture, however, it is stored in the refrigerator for no more than 3 days.

    Ginger

    Due to its medicinal composition, ginger root is often used to strengthen the immune system and as effective means to combat various colds.

    A mixture for colds: peel and cut a small ginger root into small pieces, wash the lemon, remove the seeds from it and cut. Grind the prepared ingredients with a blender and add 5 tablespoons of honey. Put the medicinal mixture in a jar, close the lid and store in the refrigerator.

    To prevent a cold in a child, add 1 teaspoon of the mixture to a glass of warm drink (water, tea), leave for 5 minutes, strain and give to drink.

    Badger fat

    Contains unsaturated fatty acids that protect cells from destruction and help the body by strengthening its defenses.

    Mix 0.5 cups of fat with 100 milliliters of liquid honey, add 100 grams of chopped walnuts and raisins. To raise immunity, children should be given a mixture of 1 teaspoon once a day.

    Chronic fatigue is one of the causes of frequent colds.

    This is usually the result of a significant decrease in immunity. The problem concerns the elderly, children, people leading a sedentary lifestyle, and so on. Frequent colds in adults, reasons for how to increase immunity, questions concern those people who face the problem several times a year. Prevention of recurrence of upper respiratory tract infections consists in improving the functioning of the immune system.

    What are the causes of persistent colds?

    There is a group of people who are prone to more frequent viral and bacterial infections. Among the factors affecting the occurrence of frequent colds, the following can be distinguished:

    • age (older people and children are more often sick);
    • immunological status (people with a weakened immune system are more likely to get sick;
    • lifestyle: constant hard physical and mental work, stress, lack of time for sleep, sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity);
    • diet (poor in trace elements and vitamins, high in fat and carbohydrates);
    • bad habits (primarily alcohol and cigarettes);
    • chronic diseases, in particular diabetes mellitus, autoimmune diseases;
    • abuse of antibiotic therapy.

    People exposed to such factors should react earlier to the first symptoms of a cold, since often complications in this case can be very serious. If the infection was caused by viruses, it can lead to bacterial superinfection. Such superinfections can cause, in particular, the ear, nose and lungs. In people with asthma, it can worsen symptoms.

    How are recurrent colds treated?

    Frequent, recurrent colds need to be treated for a long time. You should not shorten the time of pharmacotherapy on your own, the best option would be to follow the doctor's recommendations. Antiviral drugs can bring good results. Recently, products containing Inosine Pranobex have been distributed among patients and recommended by doctors. These drugs are worth trying, especially if viruses are causing the infection. Returning to work or school too quickly can lead to a relapse of the infection, since the body is still very weak and less resistant to new infections.

    Getting good rest is one effective way to combat frequent colds. It is not for nothing that patients with colds are advised to rest in bed. During the period of infection, remember to get enough sleep, i.e. at least 7-8 hours. A rested body is restored much faster and more resistant to the recurrence of the disease.

    How to prevent persistent infections?

    To prevent frequent relapses of infection, close contact with people who develop symptoms of infection should be avoided. Because viruses are spread by airborne droplets, too close contact with a sick person is the easiest way to get infected. If there are people with colds in the house, it is worth using disposable masks to reduce the risk of infection.

    It is believed that frequent hand washing significantly limits the spread of viruses, especially in children, because it is on the hands that they carry most of the pathogens. Therefore, you need to pay attention so that the child does not touch the face unnecessarily, especially around the eyes, mouth and nose. To avoid frequent infections, hands should be washed with warm water and soap. Washing hands before eating significantly reduces the risk of infection.

    In addition, it is worth remembering that in enclosed spaces, viruses multiply much faster, which is facilitated by the warm and dry air of the environment. Simply airing the room for a few minutes throughout the day will greatly reduce the risk of infection.

    How to strengthen the immune system?

    Most often, chronic colds with a tendency to relapse are associated with a drop in immunity. A weakened organism is more susceptible to infection. To prevent frequent infections, it is worth considering strengthening it.

    Activities that strengthen the immune system include:

    • physical activity: frequent walks, sports such as running, swimming. Physical activity leads to the fact that the blood is more saturated with oxygen, which strengthens the body's immunity;
    • adherence to an appropriate diet rich in vegetables and fruits;
    • the use of drugs containing echinacea, eleutherococcus;
    • very ;
    • ensure you get enough sleep for at least 7-8 hours a day;
    • avoid stress;
    • do away with bad habits.

    How to determine independently a decrease in immunity?

    This will help certain signs emanating from the body. One has only to differentiate them from serious ailments and establish the beginning of the appearance of problems. These signs include:

    • frequent colds;
    • the unexpected appearance of aggressiveness and irritability;
    • the presence of changes on the skin: inflammatory foci with various morphological elements, excessive dryness, peeling, acne,;
    • exacerbation of existing chronic diseases;
    • violation of the digestive tract (constipation, bloating, diarrhea);
    • fast fatigue and constant sleepiness;

    If at least one of these factors is present, it is worth considering strengthening the immune system. Today it is customary to distinguish two types of health promotion:

    Physiological

    Food has a particular impact on health. To strengthen the immune system, it is necessary to increase the consumption of foods rich in vitamins and minerals.
